There is nothing like back-to-back lake effect storms to disrupt the rhythm of our return to school in 2024. We have already reached the mid-point of the second trimester. Parents will receive interim grades and comments for all students. The purpose of interim reports is to communicate with families, recognize solid work, and inform students with time before the end of the trimester to make improvements. Please review the reports with your students. The newly established Learning Center is a valuable resource available for all students.
Congratulations to Tara Vanderveer ‘71 on becoming the all-time winningest coach in college basketball. Over the weekend, Tara coached the Stanford team to a win over Oregon to tie the record on Friday and surpassed it with the victory over Oregon State last night. Tara Vanderveer -Helen

The 2024 Spring Play season is upon us! We Open March 14th, 2024
Crew Interviews - for anyone who is interested in working backstage or front of house, costume and set crew, props, concessions…..those who may want to be dreamers and creators, builders and leaders, sound makers, light shiners or secret ninjas of the black curtains - come play with us! THIS Thursday - January 25th, after school - we will hold Crew Interviews. Sign up! Auditions - for anyone who is interested in playing a character, stepping into someone else’s shoes, being a team player, creating a world from your imagination, donning a costume, using your voice and escaping into another realm - come play with us!
THIS Friday - January 26th, after school - we will hold Auditions. Sign up! All information will be on the bulletin board - outside of Ms. Drozd's office.
Please note: Whether you are considering crew or cast - it is IMPERATIVE that you pick up a packet and fully complete it before you come in for your interview or audition - this includes going through all the dates with your guardians and having them sign the packet that you will turn in. About the Play: Our 2024 Spring Play is Night Night, Roger Roger by Roni Ragone It has been called a “delightful, starry, night of jesters type of play (which) is the medicine we need to heal us.
It's midnight, but that doesn't mean the world slows down. "Night Night, Roger Roger" is a comedic fanciful play about the world after the sun goes down. Roller skating Nanas, kids with tin cans, literary obsessed vampires, clumsy security guards, kids without tin cans, quirky game show hosts, and more. This play is a plea for every person to stop growing up so fast. Take your moment with the universe and enjoy it. All paperwork will be outside of my office. Crew interviews are Thursday. Auditions are Friday. Stop by and ask any questions! |

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS |
Expand your horizons and become a Global Ambassador with the Buffalo/Dortmund Summer Exchange Program!
Germany is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world for a reason - it has something for everyone! Whether you like big cities, quaint historic towns, snow-capped peaks, glittering blue seas, or the best food ever - you can find it in Germany. For well over 40 years the Buffalo/Dortmund Summer Exchange Program has been organizing high school exchanges between our two sister cities. After a 4 year hiatus, we are again offering an experience of a lifetime! High School students will have the opportunity to fly to Dortmund and stay with a host student and their family. They will take part in educational excursions and sightseeing programs together with German exchange students. The planned program includes day trips to Amsterdam and Cologne, a weekend in Berlin, as well as tours in and around Dortmund. In July 2025 the German exchange students will come to Buffalo for 3 weeks and stay with the American students and their families for the perfect exchange experience. Students do not need to know German to participate in the program. The program, including room and board and transportation to and within Germany, costs only $2.990.00. We are offering the trip to 15 high school students in Western New York on a first come first served basis. Please register early to save your spot! Registration Deadline is February 23, 2024! For more information, contact program director Lynn Engle either by email: lengle29@gmail.com or via phone/text at 716-989-8849.
